the big M

as the cliche goes, time flies so fast.

i checked out my friendster profile and found out that most of my friends at the dorm either just got hitched or had a baby. wow. does this mean that i’m getting old? well, i hope not. *haha*

to tell you the truth, it made me wonder why the big M when they’re still young? how can you tell if it’s the right time or not?

i don’t really understand how it works. *shakes head*

after eating blueberry cereal for breakfast, i grabbed my running shoes from the shoe rack and went out for a jog this morning. *inhales deeply* good morning florida. i fumbled for my phone in my pocket and immediately switched it to my fave local radio show, The Drew Show. Ahh. The show’s been playing some of the most popular songs like With You, Say It Right and Low. Great music indeed.

while jogging, i’ve taken some good shots of the hood.

and the lake. breathtaking, isn’t it?

it has been such a beautiful sunny morning. :) normally, i stay away from the sun as possible because it never fails to give me freckles and I don’t want to end up looking like a dalmatian. But this, is the ultimate exception. i can embrace the sun all morning (of course with my sunblock on) and jog the whole lot forever. the wonders of nature and what it can do to a person. being in touch with the big Momma (i.e. mother nature) is certainly soothing and refreshing. hehe this is what i call a vacation with a capital V.

oh and by the way, i think i did more than a mile today. 2 miles tops, coz i’ve circled the neighborhood twice. not that i’m complaining though. ;)

gifted

here’s a sneakpeek on how talented Josh and Jessica are.

galing no? :)

then came sunday

this morning, we went to the church to watch “Then Came Sunday”, an Easter Musical by the Cypress Lake United Methodist Church Chancel Choir. After the musical, a small feast was held outside the church where the kids had their Easter “egg hunt”, hayride (a truck loaded with hay), pony-riding, easter-bag decorating and a whole lot more. Kuya and his family are active members of the church so we somehow helped organize this family event. Jessica and Josh were assigned to the easter-bag decorating booth. Ate Ness was assigned in the Bake Sale. Kuya was busy watching the kids. Mom’s just observing the event and I, well, busy taking everyone’s pictures. Hehehe

jetlagged

it’s past 3 in the morning (3 pm in MNL) and i still can’t sleep. i’m here in Jessica’s room, just chatting and browsing the net, hoping it would somehow put me to sleep.

i just got in a few hours ago from a 4-hour flight to FL. they picked me up at the airport around 12:30 am. hooboy, i’m so dead tired from the loong journey.

but it was worth it. definitely worth it.

at home, my family prepared a nice birthday dinner for me: spag with meatballs, roasted chicken, garlic bread and my all-time favorite (drumroll please), blueberry cheesecake! all homemade stuff. i even got flowers from my big bro. *awww*

hapi bday 3hapi bday 2flowers from kuya

i just hope that i won’t get too fat on my vacation. *crosses fingers*

*jessica snoring on the background*

oopss. time for bed now.  good night everyone. ;)

layover in DTW

After 18 hours of traveling from Manila to Tokyo to Detroit, finally i’m only a few hours away to meeting my family in FL. Whew.

I’m actually here in Online C@fe at the DTW airport, blogging, while sipping my hot choco latte. Sweet isn’t it?  But mind you, I only have a few dollars left in my pocket (approximately 5 USD) ‘coz I have to pay for the 40-USD-travel tax in MNL (which I’m not aware of)  plus the airport fee of 750 PHP. Good thing I had extra money with me or else I would’ve ended up scramming for the nearest ATM.

Back to Detroit. So, why am I in an online cafe? Well, I still have to wait for 5.5 hours for my next flight. Since my phone died on me from picture/video-taking overdose in Japan, I have no way to contact my brother in FL to update him regarding my flight situation. Good thing I passed by this heaven-sent cafe while looking for the departure gate. Hehe

Time check: 7:12 PM. 1 more hour.

I sent a text message to my mom via Chikka and asked her to go online. Luckily, she got the message and asked my niece to log-in to YM. Yay!!!! I’m saved from boredom. Jessica said that she got a present for me. I’m so excited. Haha I got treats for the kids as well, how can I forget? *grin* I certainly can’t wait to meet them!

By the way, I bought a book in DTW store here in the airport. It’s a John Grisham book which ironically matches my current predicament. It’s called “The Broker”. *laughs* I’m really not into reading JG’s books. I was planning to buy a Nicholas Sparks book, either the “True Believer” or “The Wedding”. But after reading the gists of those two, I decided to go for JG instead since I’m not up for reading mushy stuff just yet. Hehe

Oops. I think it’s time for me to go. I have to catch the train to gate A66. That’s how big this airport is. How I wish my phone-camera didn’t die on me. Oh well, maybe next time. :)

Btw, it’s my birthday today. Hehe Sweet. ;)
